Members of LGBTQ+ community have many assets and gifts; but also face many unique challenges. For those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning or intersex (LGBTQ+), it’s important to recognize how your experience of sexual orientation and gender identity relates to your mental health. Here you can find culturally competent resources geared towards the LGBTQ+ community.

National Alliance on Mental Illness LGBTQ+

The Trans LifeLine

 
Peer support for trans folks 9am-3am CT:1-877-565-8860. This hotline is staffed exclusively by trans operators is the only crisis line with a policy against non-consensual active rescue. 

The Tribe Wellness Community

  
Free, online peer support groups. Include focused groups: Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, HIV/AIDS, LGBT, Marriage/family, OCD and Teens.

GLBT National Help Center

   
Organization that is dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and those questioning their sexual orientation and gender identity. The Center is an outgrowth of the Gay & Lesbian National Hotline (toll-free 1-888-THE-GLNH, 1-888-843-4564) 

The Network La Red

 
The Network/La Red hotline provides emotional support, information for domestic violence in LGBQ/T communities.
